With a proud history and a loyal community behind us, we now support multiple age‑group squads and continue to nurture players who progress into higher‑level leagues across the country.

6. Responsible recruitmentNorton Lindsey Junior Football Club endorses and follows FA guidance on responsible recruitment.When recruiting coaches, managers, volunteers or others working with children and young people, the club will take appropriate steps, which may include:- Clearly identifying the role and responsibilities
- Requesting identification documents where appropriate
- Meeting or speaking with applicants before appointment
- Requesting and following up references where appropriate
- Requiring an FA accepted Enhanced DBS Check with barred list check where the role is eligible
- Ensuring relevant safeguarding training is completed where required
All current club members working in eligible roles with children and young people, including managers and coaches, are required to hold an in-date FA accepted Enhanced DBS Check with barred list check where required by FA policy and regulations.If concerns arise about the suitability of any person involved with, or seeking to become involved with, the club, advice will be sought from Birmingham County FA and/or The FA.The club accepts that suitability decisions must be made in accordance with legislation, FA guidance and the best interests of children and young people.7. Our commitmentNorton Lindsey Junior Football Club is committed to providing a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where everyone is treated with respect.Bullying of any kind is unacceptable at our club. If bullying does occur, players, parents, carers, coaches, volunteers and committee members should feel able to report it and know that it will be taken seriously.We are a telling club. This means that anyone who knows bullying is happening is expected to tell the Club Welfare and Safeguarding Officer or a club committee member.2. Who this policy applies toThis policy applies to all players, parents, carers, coaches, volunteers, committee members and spectators connected with Norton Lindsey Junior Football Club.It applies during training, matches, tournaments, club events, travel connected with club activity, online communication, messaging groups and social media.3. What is bullying?Bullying is behaviour intended to hurt, upset, intimidate, exclude or embarrass another person.Bullying can happen once or repeatedly. It can happen in person, online, by message, through social media, or through others.Bullying may include:- Emotional bullying, such as excluding someone, ignoring them, spreading rumours, humiliation or intimidation
- Physical bullying, such as pushing, hitting, kicking, tripping or damaging someone’s belongings
- Verbal bullying, such as name-calling, insults, threats, teasing or abusive comments
- Cyberbullying, including hurtful messages, images, posts, group chat comments or social media activity
- Bullying linked to race, religion, nationality or ethnic background
- Bullying linked to disability, additional needs or medical conditions
- Bullying linked to gender, gender identity or sexual orientation
- Bullying linked to appearance, ability, family circumstances or personal characteristics
Bullying can cause real harm and distress. It has no place at Norton Lindsey Junior Football Club.4. Our expectationsEveryone connected with the club is expected to:- Treat others with respect
- Encourage and support teammates
- Accept differences between people
- Avoid abusive, aggressive or intimidating behaviour
- Challenge poor behaviour safely and appropriately
- Report bullying or suspected bullying
- Support the club in creating a positive football environment
Parents, carers and spectators are expected to set a positive example at all times.Coaches and volunteers are expected to promote respect, inclusion and positive behaviour within their teams.5. Where appropriate, the club may also seek to repair relationships through discussion, education and improved behaviour, provided this is safe and suitable for those involved.9. Online behaviour and messaging groupsThis policy also applies to online conduct connected with the club.Bullying, harassment, abuse or intimidation through WhatsApp groups, messaging apps, email, gaming platforms or social media will be treated seriously.Players, parents, carers, coaches and volunteers should not post or share anything that could upset, embarrass, threaten or target another person connected with the club.10. False or malicious allegationsThe club recognises that concerns should be reported in good faith.Where an allegation is found to have been deliberately false or malicious, the club may take appropriate action. This will be handled carefully, particularly where children are involved.11.
