Conditions on the ground were pretty poor with the pitch only just playable after the rain of late however all players knuckled down to what was going to be an energy sapping game.
Never pretty as a result of the conditions NL had the best of the action in the first half although somehow only came off at half time with a 1-0 advantage courtesy of a Marcus headed goal which was confidently taken. On more than one other occasioin the ball tantalising rolled across KW's goal but NL players failed to attack the ball to finish the move off.
In the 2nd half NL colts had the downslope and it did not take long to take advantage with a further 2 goals scored within a couple of minutes. At 3-0 the game was over but despite this both teams kept their foot on what gas they had left and with some tough challenges from tiring legs inevitably some of the players suffered knocks.
NL goal was rarely pressed with Marcus (as always) sweeping up as necessary and yet again Nathan put in a solid performance at left back. No one is quite sure how a left back plays well and stil has a clean shirt on a mud bath pitch so this was remedied after the game by a ceremonial team dunking post match!
Harry in goal had little to do except late in the 2nd half a Wardens rare break away through the defence led to a good shot which Harry watched carefully and pushed wide.
Defence resolute the midfield trio looked solid throughout despite the mud bath.
Whilst their were good performances all round a solide defencive display, scoring twice and nearly getting a hatrick but for hitting the bar with another excellent header means Marcus is the well deserved POM.
