TEAM HISTORY
2008 09 Season summary (14/07/09)

8/6/09 - Congratulations to the Team Winners at our Club Presentation Night on Saturday. The Colts U10's winners were:

Aled - Sportsman
Jake - Managers Player and Players Player
Ben - Most Improved

I was proud of the team for their behaviour on the afternoon and we had a good evening after in The Waterman.

13/5/09 - Trials night a great success, with 24 kids trying to get into what was one team. However, we now have confirmation of an additional, Colts team, for 2009/10 season at 11-a-side.
We do need a few more players to make this happen, so if you are one of my players and have a freind who wants to play, or you are looking at this now and want to come and play for us, training is at the pitch opposite Budbrooke School in Hampton Magna on a Friday from 18.15 hrs.

5/09 - That's it - 6th in the League but two points off a top 4 place, a very close finish. Well done kids, another good season. Thanks again to Gordon, the parents and my family for their support.
Looking forward to next season already.

4/09 - 6 games to go this month and we are sitting in 4th place, with 3 games against teams around us.

Keep going kids to finish in a position that reflects your efforts over the last few months. Well done. Gordon, me and your parents are proud of your approach and achievements whatever happens.

2/09 - Just over half the season gone and we have settled into a style of play where we continue to look to pass. Our League position is fair but we would like to finish strongly and get all the players ready for 11-a-side football.
Keep going kids - 10 games to go.

9/08 - The Colts come into their second season in a competitive Division for 2008-09 Season.

We look forward to trying to improve on a great season last year. Good Luck to all our players from myself, Gordon and all the parents.

The Season closes in (01/04/09)

Well here we are at the start of April and we sit in Fourth place in aDivision of 14, with a chance of finishing higher being in the kids own hands. We play Central Ajax twice (2nd) and Whitnash (5th) along with Woodford and both Bilton teams.

We have had a differing season with a few Cup results affecting the team along with a dis-jointed, weather affected season not helping us. We have had an excellent run lately, only losing to the Division leaders in our last 8 games.

Keep going kids and get the Division position your recent play has deserved. Whatever happens, we are all proud of your improvement and achievement this season. We then merge for U11's and that should be a very exciting time.

End of 2007-08 Season (03/09/08)

Well, I do not think we could have asked for more - Fifth in the table at the end of our first season, everyone who turned up got a good slot in the game, the kids enjoyed it and we won more games than we lost. Over the Moon, Brian!!!

We now go into the U10's League from September, with almost the same group of players. Let's hope we can have a good season.

About Half Way (08/01/08)

Well - if you would have said we would have 17 points and be around mid-table at around the half way point I would have taken that at the start of our first season in a league. Now we will see if we can push up the league and do ourselves proud. The kids have come through a sticky patch to win 2 games around Xmas so lets hope we can keep this going.

Whatever happens I am please with how they have worked and hope this will continue.

First league game (09/09/07)

8/0/07
Our first ever league game ended in a 2 - 2 draw with Radford Rangers. We played well and perhaps could have won it near the end but a draw is a fair refelction of the game.
Lets hope we can move on from this, as we play local rivals Central Ajax next week.

First Season - 07/08 (16/08/07)

August 2007 - The U9 Colts start their first competitive season this year and both players and managers are very much looking forward to it.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
